Katy Johansson is the first executive director of the Olympia Education Foundation, a nonprofit founded to empower every student in the Olympia School District. She is a proud UW Husky, holds a degree in communications, and worked at The Olympian and for the state Senate before taking a few years off to stay at home with her children, who are now 14 and 12. In addition to volunteering at her

children’s schools, Katy enjoys serving on the boards of South Sound Partners for Philanthropy, the Capital City Marathon Association and the Capital High School Scholarship Foundation. She is an avid runner and devoted yogi, and loves to travel and watch her kids play sports.
