Maestro Huw Edwards recently announced 2019-20 as his final season with the Olympia Symphony. You won't want to miss a single concert this year!

Shostakovich's greatest symphony, his Tenth (1953), was written in the wake of Stalin's death. Described as an "optimistic tragedy," it portrays life in Russia during the "reign of terror" -- the second movement is a terrifying portrait of Stalin -- and looks to a hopeful future. We welcome back Olympia native Ben Albertson as a rare harp soloist in a delicate work by Debussy, and the concert opens with Wagner's Prelude to Die Meistersinger -- another musical fusion of the old and the new. Celebrate the opening of our 2019-2020 Season, "Vision: Through the Lens of Music," with us!

WAGNER: Prelude to Die Meistersinger
DEBUSSY: Dances Sacred and Profane (Ben Albertson, harp)
